The day has finally arrived. The great wait is finally over. Bamboo installation day!! After 2 very long weeks of painting around boxes and hoping I once again took a gamble that paid off, my floors have been installed! I had to patiently wait at work all day to see the final product.

So let me take you back to what my room started out looking like:

Pink carpet for a pink house? Not into it. “But, Dan it’s really not that bad. You can probably just clean it and it will be fine.”-My Parents I do not know what lives in or has lived in that carpet. I’m not at a hotel and will be rid of the germs in a day or two. This is not a rented apartment. This is my home! And in my home, carpets are only for certain areas. Behold the power of an area rug, world. Come hell or high water, I was not getting out of bed to find carpet under my feet that only covered a small section of my room.

After “The great wait”, and staring at these beauties for 2 weeks:

At 5:30 this afternoon, all was revealed! I’m glad to say, the gamble paid off!! I do wish I was this good at gambling at the track. Ponies could’ve paid for this house. Alas, my salary must, but, damn it feels good to win!

Now, with out further distraction, I present to you, straight from Asia, taken from the dinner table of pandas, sustainable for the environment and my sanity, my BRAND NEW bamboo floors!!

My room is partially painted, so I didn’t want to give it away, but, you can see the floor quite well in this picture. I’ve been told it would be better if I used a real camera, but, I keep getting too excited. Hopefully now that things are starting to complete, I’ll get better “after” shots.
